Good morning 🌥️ A wave of landmark court decisions is reshaping global climate law, and you might want to cash in. The European Court of Human Rights ruled that Switzerland violated the rights of elderly women by failing to take adequate climate action, establishing that states must protect citizens from climate harms. Also, the UN’s International Court of Justice, totally inept in stopping a genocide in Gaza, bore its bashful teeth by declaring that countries failing to act against climate change could be violating international law, and those harmed may be entitled to reparations.
