Good morning šŸŒ¤ļø Starbucks effed around and out that when you increase the price of a commodity in a crowded and increasingly competitive market, customers develop wandering eyes. In response, Starbucks poached Chipotleā€™s CEO by seducing him with a compensation package thatā€™ll remind you thereā€™s plenty of money in this world; itā€™s just not in your bank account.

On top of commuting 1000+ miles on the company jet thrice a week, the new CEO, Brian Niccol, will also be paid an annual base salary of $1.6 million and can earn a yearly cash bonus ranging from $3.6 million to $7.2 million (contingent on performance). He'll also qualify for annual equity awards worth up to $23 million.ā
