Good morning 🌤️ WHO issued a global warning about a potentially dangerous, fake Ozempic. Here’s Ozempic 101: Originally made to treat Type 2 Diabetes (the more common sugar-related type), Ozempic (scientifically called semaglutide) became more popular because of one of its side effects—weight loss.

The drug, among other things, lowers blood sugar levels and slows the rate at which food empties from your stomach. And if your stomach is retaining food longer, you don’t crave sixteen chapatis at midnight, and hence, in the long run, you lose weight.

Now, like an American drug commercial, here are the possible side effects of Ozempic: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, PancreatitisKidneyproblemsGallbladderissuesAllergic reactions, etc. That’s not a typo.

Creating a sugar pill to counterfeit a weight loss drug is a brand of dark humor that’d make a Bond villain proud.
