Good morning 🌥️ The planet’s biggest climate conference, COP30, opened in Belém, Brazil, drawing delegates from 190+ countries (and 1600 fossil fuel lobbyists) to negotiate climate action amid record heat and rising disasters.

Unsurprisingly, thousands marched outside the venue, demanding an end to fossil fuels and justice for frontline communities. But perhaps the most appropriate (and ironic) protest was the heavy rains that caused flooding at the venue, disrupting the opening day with flooded entrances, corridors, and press areas.
